SJVN Scholarship 2020: SJVN, a Mini Ratna and Schedule ‘A’ Central Govt. Public Sector Undertaking has been implementing its Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable plans to make a meaningful contribution towards sustainable socio-economic development of communities. In this series, SJVN has originated “SJVN SILVER JUBILEE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME” for the worthy students who have passed class 12th Examinations in 2019 which points at teaching competitive spirit among students and to develop their academic capacity. The Scheme is being implemented through HIMCON on behalf of the SJVN Foundation.

In 2019 Total of 150 students will be awarded a scholarship of Rs. 2000/-(Rs. Two Thousand only) per month for the whole duration of next higher course after class 12th like Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Medical, Arts/Science/ Commerce/Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Veterinary/ Business Administration/ Computer Applications/LLB/MBBS, etc.

SJVN Scholarship Dates

SJVN has started “SJVN SILVER JUBILEE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME” for the worthy students who have passed the class 12th exam in the year 2019 which aims at implanting competitive spirit among students and to sustain their academic talent. SJVN Scholarship Eligibility

The students who have secured minimum 60% or its equivalent grade in 12th class examination in any discipline from a school under State Education Board, CBSE or ICSE in the immediately preceding academic session in the States of Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Bihar, Maharashtra and Gujrat. Eligibility for a percentage of marks for BPL will be 50% and for PWD pass marks.
There will be no domicile restriction for the students for eligibility for the scheme.
Beneficiaries of any other scholarship will not be acceptable for getting this SJVN scholarship.

SJVN Scholarship Merit List

In the states of Uttarakhand, Bihar and Maharashtra the first 50% seats will be reserved for the students studying in the schools situated under the Project Affected Area (PAA) villages. The remaining 50% seats will be reserved for the districts in which the project is located. The state-wise SJVN scholarship allotment is given below:

SJVN Scholarship Rewards

150 students will be awarded a scholarship of Rs. 2000/- (Rs. two thousands only) per month for pursuing the regular course for the whole duration of next higher course after class 12th like bachelors degree in Engineering, Medical, Arts/ Science/ Commerce/ Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Veterinary/ Business Administration/ Computer Applications/ LLB (5 years course)/ CA, etc.
In the states of Bihar, Maharashtra, Uttrakhand and Gujrat, the first 50% seats will be earmarked for the students studying in the schools situated under Project Affected Area (PAA) villages and then rest 50% for the district in which the Project is established. However, the vacant seats in one category will be considered for the other category.
The list of PAA villages will be provided by the respective projects to the implementing agency.

SJVN Scholarship Online Registration – How to Apply?

The SJVN Scholarship Application form can be downloaded from the SJVN website or from the outsourced agency’s website or can be obtained from other sources also as notified in newspapers.
The filled-in application should be accompanied by a photograph of the student and mark sheet of Class 12th examination.
The duly filled in application should be attested by the Principal of the school/ institute from which the student is pursuing a higher course after passing the 12th class.
The filled-in application must be submitted/ sent to SJVN or the outsourced agency by the last date as notified. No application will be accepted after the last date under any circumstances.

Documents Required for SJVN Scholarship

The duly filled in SJVN Scholarship application form should be submitted along with the following documents:

Affixed by two passport size photographs of the student
Attested Class 12 Marksheet
BPL and PWD certificate (if applicable)

SJVN Scholarship Selection Procedure

Duly filled application forms will be screened by the agency engaged by SJVN. The committee/ agency will shortlist the candidates on the following criteria:

Rank secured by the student with respect to marks or equivalent grade secured in class 12th Board Examination.
In the case of a tie of the ranking, the candidate of higher age will be preferred.
The shortlisted candidates will be called for the screening with all original academic certificates and testimonials.
Mere submission of the application will not guarantee eligibility for the scholarship.
SJVN will have the power to accept or refuse the candidature of any applicant at any stage without specifying reasons.
If sufficient applications are not received in a particular board/ category then the vacant seats can be filled by other boards with the approval of Chairman SJVN Foundation.

Release of SJVN Scholarship

The scholarship will be provided annually subject to the passing of the previous year/ session examination successfully. The scholarship will be terminated for the succeeding year/session if a student fails in the examination or pass the exam through the supplementary exam. The student will be asked to submit a designated requisition form for a scholarship for the discharge of the scholarship. The first installment of scholarship to the students will be provided on some special occasions like SJVN Raising day, Republic day, Teachers’ day, etc.

Definition of Project Affected Area

Project Affected Area indicates declaration by the Appropriate Government of an area of villages or region under a plan for which the land is being procured under Land Acquisition Act, 1894 or any other Act in force or a region that comes under submergence due to enclosing of water in the storage of the project or area located over the underground component of the project. It also involves areas as reported by project authority. The system for measuring the project-affected zone shall be Panchayat.

ICMR SRF Fellowship 2020: ICMR SRF Fellowship falls under the purview of the Indian Council of Medical Research. The council is the forerunner of biomedical research and one of the largest research bodies in the world. The ICMR is funded by the Government of India through the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The ICMR SRF/ RA Fellowship is awarded to young scientists to enable them to carry out research in medicine or allied fields at the permanent institutes of the council, universities and medical colleges, other biomedical research institutes in India where laboratories and other facilities are readily available to carry out research.

ICMR provides fellowships for:

Research Associates (RA)
Senior Research Fellowships (SRF)

The candidates applying for the aforementioned fellowships are instructed to formulate a research plan and submit the same to the council. The duration of the fellowship is 36 months or 3 years. Under special circumstances, the fellowship can be extended to a maximum of 4 years.

ICMR SRF Fellowship Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the fellowships are as follows:

- MA (Social Sciences), Master in Medical Social Work, M.Sc (Life Sciences) with two years of research experience
- MBBS/ M.Pharm/ M.E/ M.Tech/ MVSc./ BDS
For Research Associate
- Registered for DNB or MD/ P.hD/ MBBS with two years of experience.

Age limit (Upper age limit)

For Senior Research Fellow – 35 years of age
For Research Associate – 40 years of age. Relaxation of two years (upper age limit) in case of female candidates.

ICMR SRF Fellowship Application Process

Applications are to be submitted online, on ICMR Website: http://icmrextramural.in/ICMR/.
Candidates have to first register themselves on the portal.
Post-registration, a user ID and password will be provided to login.

Conditions for Applications
Candidates have to ensure that the following conditions are fulfilled or satisfied when applying. If any of the conditions are unfulfilled, the application can be rejected by the ICMR.

The application must be submitted through online mode by the Fellow with the permission of the Head of the Institution and their Guide where the candidate proposed to work.
If the candidate is employed, a certificate from the candidate’s employer accepting the fellowship is required.
The candidate must not draw any salary or stipend from any other institute for the duration of the fellowship. A certificate stating the same must be provided.
Along with the application, the candidate is required to submit a detailed plan of work.
The problem proposed to be studied by the candidate must be clearly defined. It should not be a generalization or vague and must be capable of being completed within the duration of the fellowship.
As defined in the application form, a plan of work must be prepared. Consult a statistician if necessary.
The guide, under whose guidance the work will be executed should clearly certify that the proposed research plan has been prepared after careful consultation with the candidate and the statistician (if necessary).
The guide must also state that they have examined the scheme and have proved the plan of work, and are willing to direct and guide the proposed research work.
The HOD, where the research work will be carried out, must certify that the laboratory and equipment are available for the candidate to carry out their research work. Please note that no financial assistance will be provided for the purchase of any equipment.
If the candidate wants to pursue further research (research associateship), they must enclose a thesis, or a summary of work done so far along with potentially new facets are to be enclosed on a separate sheet.
If human subjects are involved in the project, the candidate has to ensure that their project is cleared by the Ethical committee of their Institutes.

Please note: House Rent Allowance is payable with reference to the initial basic pay + grade pay and NPA. Furthermore, house rent allowance is permissible if the place of work falls within the qualifying limits of the Urban/ City agglomeration.

Raman Charpak Fellowship: Raman Charpak Fellowship scheme is in recognition of two Nobel Laureates in Physics, Prof C.V. Raman, Indian Nobel Laureate (1930) and Prof Georges Charpak, French Nobel Laureate (1992). The Fellowship originated when the President of France had a state visit to India in February 2013. The purpose is to promote the interchange of doctoral students between the two nations, to expand the scope and extent of future actions in Science, Technology and Innovation.

This programme executed by the Indo French Centre for Advancement of Advanced Research (IFCPAR/ CEFIPRA) points at developing the doctoral skills of Indian and French students by giving them an opportunity to lead out part of their investigation work in a University / Research & Development Institute based in France or India respectively. This plan is now also permitted to French Master Students, who want to spend some time in India as per their curriculum. It strives at improving the Master’s skills of French students by granting them an opportunity to bring out internship job in a University / Research Institute based in India.

Eligibility Criteria

Students applying from India should be an Indian citizen and residing in India.
He/she must have registered for a Ph.D. in a recognized university or research institution in India.
Applicants from France must be residing in France and have registered for a Ph.D. programme in a research institution or in a recognized university in France.

The applicant should have prior consent to their Institute / University to apply for a foreign fellowship program.

Raman Charpak Fellowship Benefits

For Indian Fellow:

The selected applicants from India will get fellowship Support of 1500 Euros monthly for daily expenses, local travel, convenience charges plus Social Security costs

For French Fellow:

The selected applicants of France will get fellowship allowance of Rs. 40,000 monthly for daily charges, local travel, etc. plus settlement charges not exceeding Rs. 45,000 per month.
The selected applicants will be given with To and Fro flight tickets in economy class between India and France
Insurance coverage (travel and health) wherever is needed.
Any regulatory costs for Visa and Registration will be provided to the selected applicants.
A Fellow could be provided with additional support for engaging in a Seminar/Workshop during their course of the fellowship and linger in their host nations.(up to Euro 500 for Indian Fellows and equal support in Indian Rupees for French Fellows)
During the fellowship time of selected applicants, no allowance will be given to their family members.

PMRF Benefits

PMRF provides the following benefits to the selected fellows:

Prime Minister Research Fellowship Application Process

Candidates can fill and submit the Prime Minister Research Fellowship application on or before the last date. Refer to the below points to apply for the PMRF Program.

Prime Minister Research Fellowship Terms and Conditions

Candidates should write a unique abstract in their own words and limit it up to 1000 words.
The candidate’s names should appear at the beginning of the abstract.
The project abstract should highlight the interest and articulate the area of study.
The abstract should formulate a problem for study. This will be used for assessing the candidate’s analytical and research skills.
Candidates can choose up to 5 broad disciplines for each of which they will be assessed.
The referees and candidates have closely interacted with each other during the candidate’s UG or PG Program.

National doctoral fellowship Eligibility Criteria

The fellowship/contingency will be given to research scholars recognised in the research institute of AICTE. National Nodal Centre will increase the method for choosing applicants as per the eligibility standards for award of National Doctoral Fellowship.
The applicant must have obtained a combined grade point score of 7.5 on the scale of 10 or equivalent at both B.E/B.Tech/B.Pharm and M.E/M.Tech/M.Pharm. In addition to the above, the applicant should have passed GATE/GPAT through the last five years. For SC/ST/PH applicants CGPA provision will be 7.0 on the range of 10 or equivalent or general applicant must have obtained 75% marks or above & 70% marks for applicants of reserved classes.
The applicant should be below 30 years of age as on 31st August of the year of application yet age relaxation of 5 years would apply to applicants pertaining to SC/ST, women and physically challenged class.

Fellowship Duration of NDF

The term of the plan shall be for 3 Years. No additional extension will be given, though, extendable by six months in exceptional cases with the guidance of Institute and permission of National Nodal Centre. An additional expansion of 6 months may be given on the advice with the permission of AICTE.

Intake of NDF Scheme

The whole number of applicants chosen under this plan per year would be restricted to 150 per year. A number of applicants/Institute would be about 3 per Institute subjected to the availability of positions in the research hub and need of a research centre by applicants. If the seats allocated to the Institution continue empty, these seats will be allocated to the other institutions by the Nodal Centre on the permission of AICTE.

Reservation Policy

Reservation for the fellowship will be as per Central Reservation Policy, i.e. 15% to SC applicants, 7.5% to ST applicants and 27% to OBC applicants (NCL only), and will be recognised at National level.

National doctoral fellowship Rewards

The applicant will be granted the fellowship of Rs. 28,000/- per month + House rent allowance(HRA) wheresoever the hostel convenience/Institute accommodation is not possible as per the standards of Ph.D. Scholarship published by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education Contingency allowance will be applicable at the pace of Rs.15,000/- per annum.

The chosen Nodal Centre may be issued an amount of Rs.11.00 lakhs yearly for meeting the expense on Honorarium/Wage to DEO/Clerks and for conference prices of National Nodal Centre Coordinator’s Office.

Applicants should see the information booklet open in the above website entirely before providing details in all the fields in the application form.
Applicants must only present their application form online by aicte-ndf.psgtech.ac.in.
Applicants should get sure that conventional Institute / Discipline codes are chosen, all essential details are duly filled in the corresponding fields.
The applicant should present the online application form along with appropriate enclosures specified in the Information Booklet.
The applicant should also give an application fee by online for Rs. 500/- in reverence of General/OBC class learners and for Rs. 250/- in reverence of booked class students (SC/ST/PH).

The National Nodal Centre of AICTE will identify candidates as per the roles and duties of National Nodal Centre.

Terms and Conditions

The fellow shall present an annual statement on the development, each year by the Research Supervisor, Head of the Department and Head of the Institute.
The fellow should submit the last progress report by the Head of the Department / Institution to the AICTE.
The fellow shall not be granted for the transferral of award from the Institution where the awardee is presently working for PhD through the whole occupation of the award.
The fellow shall dedicate full time to study during the occupation of fellowship and will not be authorised to take any part-time/full-time assignment. Candidates will not receive any other pay or fellowship if granted during the occupation of fellowship by any other source. The quality of the candidature (Full-time AICTE sponsored National Doctoral Fellow) will not replace during the program.
The fellow shall provide a statement that if the outcomes of research are such that can be employed commercially by using a license or otherwise economic exploitation and copyright should be with the Institute, applicant and administrator. However, the laws of the respective research institute, if any, in these interests will be suitable.
AICTE online gateway will have PG Scholarship gateway like mechanism to release fellowship/HRA etc. amount immediately in the bank account of the receiver through DBT.
The service requirements specified in the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education guidance published vide F. Number 17-2/2014-TS. I dated 18.02.2015 shall apply to awardees.
If the growth of the applicant is not adequate as described by the supervisor/Head of the Department /Head of the research institute, the grant of the candidature will be cancelled with instant effect. This will not be revoked under any conditions.
The PhD rules/ordinances of the research institute and the affiliating university will apply to all accepted applicants under this project.
