Thiel Fellowship: The Thiel Fellowship is a fellowship founded by Peter Thiel. The fellowship is designated for candidates under the age of 23. It grants them a total of $100,000 for two years, as well as supervision and other support to work on projects, which could include scientific research, founding a startup, or operating on a social movement. The choice of the fellows is made through the online application process, where candidates have to submit the details of their current project or which company they are currently working on.

Raman Charpak Fellowship

Raman Charpak Fellowship: Raman Charpak Fellowship scheme is in recognition of two Nobel Laureates in Physics, Prof C.V. Raman, Indian Nobel Laureate (1930) and Prof Georges Charpak, French Nobel Laureate (1992). The Fellowship originated when the President of France had a state visit to India in February 2013. The purpose is to promote the interchange of doctoral students between the two nations, to expand the scope and extent of future actions in Science, Technology and Innovation.

This programme executed by the Indo French Centre for Advancement of Advanced Research (IFCPAR/ CEFIPRA) points at developing the doctoral skills of Indian and French students by giving them an opportunity to lead out part of their investigation work in a University / Research & Development Institute based in France or India respectively. Eligibility Criteria

  • Students applying from India should be an Indian citizen and residing in India.

Raman Charpak Fellowship Benefits

For Indian Fellow:

For French Fellow:

  • The selected applicants of France will get fellowship allowance of Rs. 40,000 monthly for daily charges, local travel, etc. plus settlement charges not exceeding Rs. 45,000 per month.

PMRF Eligibility Criteria

Prime Minister Research Fellowship Selection Process

ICMR SRF Fellowship 2020: ICMR SRF Fellowship falls under the purview of the Indian Council of Medical Research. The council is the forerunner of biomedical research and one of the largest research bodies in the world. The ICMR is funded by the Government of India through the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The ICMR SRF/ RA Fellowship is awarded to young scientists to enable them to carry out research in medicine or allied fields at the permanent institutes of the council, universities and medical colleges, other biomedical research institutes in India where laboratories and other facilities are readily available to carry out research.

Conditions for Applications
Candidates have to ensure that the following conditions are fulfilled or satisfied when applying. If any of the conditions are unfulfilled, the application can be rejected by the ICMR.

  • The application must be submitted through online mode by the Fellow with the permission of the Head of the Institution and their Guide where the candidate proposed to work.
  • If the candidate is employed, a certificate from the candidate’s employer accepting the fellowship is required.
  • The candidate must not draw any salary or stipend from any other institute for the duration of the fellowship. A certificate stating the same must be provided.
  • Along with the application, the candidate is required to submit a detailed plan of work.
  • The problem proposed to be studied by the candidate must be clearly defined. It should not be a generalization or vague and must be capable of being completed within the duration of the fellowship.
  • As defined in the application form, a plan of work must be prepared. Consult a statistician if necessary.
    The guide, under whose guidance the work will be executed should clearly certify that the proposed research plan has been prepared after careful consultation with the candidate and the statistician (if necessary).
  • The guide must also state that they have examined the scheme and have proved the plan of work, and are willing to direct and guide the proposed research work.
  • The HOD, where the research work will be carried out, must certify that the laboratory and equipment are available for the candidate to carry out their research work. Please note that no financial assistance will be provided for the purchase of any equipment.
  • If the candidate wants to pursue further research (research associateship), they must enclose a thesis, or a summary of work done so far along with potentially new facets are to be enclosed on a separate sheet.
  • If human subjects are involved in the project, the candidate has to ensure that their project is cleared by the Ethical committee of their Institutes.

FOSSEE Summer Fellowship Benefits

  • Selected candidates will be invited for fellowship at IIT, Bombay.
  • Fellows will be provided with on-campus hostel accommodation (twin-sharing basis) for the duration of the fellowship. Please note, a caution deposit of INR 2,000 has to be paid (refundable). Hostel and mess charges are to be borne by the candidate (approximately INR 4,500 per month).
  • Fellows will also be provided a stipend of INR 10,000 per month to cover their general expenses. However, an additional amount of INR 7,500 will be awarded if the candidate shows exceptional performance.

SBI Youth for India Fellowship

SBI Youth for India Fellowship: SBI Youth for India Fellowship is an initiative of the State Bank of India, which aims at providing India’s youth a platform to work on rural development projects. The 13-month fellowship involves partnering with various NGOs across India for promoting growth and sustainability in rural areas.

SBI Youth for India Fellowship seeks to empower youths to make positive changes in rural India at the grassroots level. This means having a strong commitment and interest to work towards that goal. The fellowship provides the necessary manpower and skillsets required to bring about this change. From a wider perspective, rural areas may hold many untapped potentials, hence, transforming these areas into productive sectors will contribute to the economy of a country. This means providing more employment opportunities to rural communities.

SBI Youth for India Fellowship – Eligibility Criteria

The fellowship has the following core requirements. Candidates have to ensure that all the requirements are fulfilled in order to be deemed eligible:

  • Age of the candidates must be between 21-32 years of age
  • Candidates must be Indian citizens/ OCI
  • Candidates must be a graduate. Young professionals are also eligible.

Application Process:
Applications are submitted through online mode only. Interested candidates can apply on their official application portal here. The 2020 application window has already commenced. It will close in the last week of April 2020 (tentative).

Screening and Shortlisting:
Shortlisted candidates will be intimated on an ongoing basis during the application period. The selected candidates will be called for an interview, which is scheduled to be held in major cities across India.

Final Selection:
Candidates who have been selected post-interview will be intimated through SMS and/or email. On confirmation, offer letters will be sent to the candidates enclosing all the terms and conditions of the fellowship.

SBI Youth for India Fellowship – Duration

The total duration of the fellowship is 13 months. On completion, Fellows will receive a certificate of completion and a valedictory function will be held.

The following benefits will be provided to the fellows:

  • A stipend of INR 15,000/-
  • INR 1,000 per month for local transport allowance
  • Re-adjustment allowance of INR 40,000 upon successfully completing the fellowship
