My Role Model Essay 300 Words

What is a Role Model?

Almost everyone has their own role model. A role model inspires individuals to follow in their footsteps and achieve the same level of success. Besides success, role models also encourage youngsters to emulate their behaviour or even habits.

My Role Model – Elon Musk

Elon Musk is an entrepreneur and an inventor. He is renowned for creating Tesla, the electric car company that revolutionized the current automobile industry. He is also the founder of SpaceX, an aerospace manufacturer and a transportation company. Furthermore, Elon Musk was also one of the founders of Paypal, the popular payments system. Moreover, Elon Musk has an IQ of 155; this means his intelligence is in the same field as of Einstein and Stephen Hawking. In comparison, an average person has an IQ between 85 and 115.

Achievements and Successes of Elon Musk

Elon Musk’s enthusiastic embrace of technology would lead some people to call him the “Real-life Iron Man”. And though it may sound rather far-fetched, it makes sense the more we understand about him. SpaceX is a revolutionary company that has achieved many feats – the most significant one being the Falcon Heavy: the most powerful operational rocket in the world. These feats of engineering were not done by any government, but the efforts of a single individual.

What Inspired Me

These amazing feats inspire me to reach for new heights and keep learning new things constantly. Moreover, Elon Musk did have many failures in his life, but this did not faze him. His unrelenting hard work and charisma have inspired me to follow in his footsteps. After all, being called the “real-life Iron Man” is one of the best titles anybody could ask for.

My Other Role Models

Elon Musk is not my only role model, but he is my biggest. Other role models that inspire me are Bill Gates, Nikola Tesla, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg.

My Role Model Essay 250 Words

Who is a Role Model?

A role model is someone who inspires you to follow in their footsteps. They could inspire you to emulate their success, their behaviour, or even their work. And doing so is beneficial for growth and future opportunities as it inculcates good habits within ourselves. And a role model can be anyone from the community, like our parents or teacher. If a person has an interest in sports, a sportsperson can be their role model. Similarly, a student of fine arts may find their role model in the media or movie industry.

My Role Model Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, may not have been the nicest man in the world, but he had a vision. His vision was so revolutionary that he changed the world. However, Jobs did not materialize his vision overnight; in fact, he worked towards it his entire life. At one point, he was even thrown out of his own company. Eventually, he forced his way back into his company and made it the most profitable in the world.

Steve Jobs’ Famous Quote

Steve Jobs had many famous quotes, but the one that inspired me the most is this:

“Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me. Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful… that’s what matters to me.”

The above quote inspires us to make something meaningful out of life. Money is important for survival, but that is not the legacy which we should leave behind. Life is precious, and we must dedicate it to making something useful and making ourselves satisfied at the end of the day.

Moreover, individuals cannot meet their financial obligations, which can result in drastic repercussions such as foreclosure or eviction. Unemployment can also affect the physical and mental health of an individual – it can increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases, depression, anxiety and other illnesses. In some individuals, unemployment can result in addiction to stimulants and drugs. It can also encourage a latent and sedentary lifestyle, which drastically increases the risk of diseases such as diabetes and blood pressure.

Unemployment may be unavoidable. Some economists also believe that unemployment has some “benefits” – the primary benefit being the pool of individuals readily available for hire. It has also been speculated that unemployment averts inflation – by providing a reserve of labour, thereby keeping wages in check.

Resolutions and Initiatives

India provides unemployment allowances for citizens under certain ages (30 for men and 35 for women). However, their total family income must be less than INR 2,00,000 to be eligible for this scheme.

Plastic Pollution Essay 300 Words

Brief History of Plastic

Parkesine, invented by Alexander Parkes in 1856, was considered the world’s first man-made plastic. However, it incorporated organic materials, such as cellulose. Bakelite, which was created by Leo Baekeland, was the world’s first fully synthetic plastic. Ever since then, mass production of plastic helped to fill niches that were occupied by more expensive and harder-to-manufacture products.

Why do we use Plastic?

At the time, the implications of plastic were unknown because it was a brand new material. Today, we can see the applications of plastic in nearly all aspects of life. The reason plastics are widespread is because of its low cost and ease of manufacturing. When it was invented, it was touted as a material of the future. It found applications in many fields such as medicine, technology, defence, food packaging and more. In fact, plastic has permeated nearly every aspect of our life.

Repercussions of Plastic

Plastics has its downsides too – with the biggest one being biodegradability. Discarded plastics take a very long time to decompose; a plastic straw can take 150 years, a plastic bag can take 50 years, and a plastic water bottle will take almost 450 years. Moreover, most of the discarded plastics end up in the ocean – under these conditions, plastics breakdown into minute particles which are then ingested by plankton.

Plankton is consumed by other animals, such as small fish and other invertebrates. These animals are, in turn, consumed by larger animals such as sharks and bigger fish. Eventually, these microplastics travel up the food chain and reach humans. Some plastics are thought to be carcinogenic. This means it has a higher risk of causing cancer if exposed. Besides its impact on health, plastics also drastically affect the environment. It contributes significantly to global warming and ever-increasing carbon footprint.

Conclusion on Plastic Pollution Essay

In conclusion, plastic may be a wonderful invention, but it has many negative effects to be considered safe or even feasible for long-term usage. Hence, we must phase out plastic for other safer, eco-friendly alternatives.

Plastic Pollution Essay 200 Words

Kids must be taught about the effects of plastic on the environment and themselves. Adults must set an example for kids by adopting other eco-friendly alternatives and practices. The government has to do its part to ensure plastics no longer pollute the environment.

Why has Plastic Pollution become Rampant?

Plastics find applications in countless fields. Moreover, plastics are cheaper and easy to manufacture than most other materials such as cloth or paper. This makes them the ideal candidate for mass production and distribution. Furthermore, plastics can be easily moulded into any form or shape. It is also very robust and does not degrade easily.

Why are Plastics Bad?

Plastics are not engineered to be biodegradable. It means that they take a very long time to decompose. A typical plastic bag can take 50 years; a plastic bottle will take over 450 years to decompose fully. This property contributes to the uprise of plastic pollution.

Moreover, plastics are known to cause harm to wildlife either by mechanical damage or chemical damage. Cows may unknowingly ingest plastic, which can clog up their intestines, causing death. Fish or other aquatic animals may get entangled and die in plastic bags or scraps. Some plastics are also known to cause cancer in humans.

However, Bose travelled to Germany to seek help against the British. He had even sought help from the Russians as well.

In 1943, Subhash Chandra Bose travelled to Japan as they agreed to his appeal for help. It was in Japan that he formed his Indian National Army (INA). He also formed a provisional government, which was officially recognized by the Axis powers.

His army, the INA, attacked the North-eastern parts of India and was successful in capturing a few territories. However, their victories were cut short when the INA was forced to surrender due to poor weather conditions and lack of support from the Japanese. Nevertheless, Bose made it clear that he would not surrender. On August 17 1945, Bose fled to escape surrender but was killed when the plane he was travelling in crashed.

The legacy of Subhash Chandra Bose will live on through the freedom movements and the eventual independence of India.
