Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Fellowship Eligibility Criteria, Selection Procedure

The stipend provided under this fellowship is Rs.36000/- + HRA every month, during the first two years of the fellowship and a Contingency award of Rs.70000/- per annum may be increased to Rs.42000/- + HRA per month from third year onwards based on assessment through interview. These stipends may be returned to JRF (NET), if performance is found unsatisfactory.

The duration of SPM Fellowship is initially for 2 years. Extendable as per standard rules for CSIR JRF (NET) plan. The maximum tenure will be up to 5 years.

SPM Fellowship Contingent Grant

An annual contingent stipend of Rs.70,000/- per person is provided to the University/Institution. For less than one year, the contingent grant will be applicable on a pro-rata basis. A portion of this grant may be used by the fellows, in the case of research work, purchase of books, etc.

The unspent amount of contingency grant may be carried forth to the next year, at the end of a year. Still, the upcoming release of contingency reward will be subject to modification of unspent balance of contingency reward of the prior year. It is thereby limiting contingency payment to a maximum of Rs. 70,000/- in a year. Moreover, request (claim) for freedom of contingency grant of the past financial years will not be considered.

The CSIR Research Fellows will be granted a lump sum amount of Rs.3000/- extra when they submit the PhD thesis in e-form. For attending discussions abroad, SPM Fellows should be employed in the travel allowance scheme of HRDG where partial/ full airfare is given to research students for giving their research papers. Yet, once in the complete tenure, per diem expenses for the conference session can be challenged from contingency allowance as per host institute’s rule.

Emeritus Fellowship is granted based on the recommendation of the Expert Committee appointed by the Commission for the goal.

The grant is subject to UGC norms and will be productive from 1st April of the election year or the exact date of joining in the University/College/Institute, whichever is next.

Milaap Fellowship: Milaap Fellowship Program gives young professionals an opportunity to work as eyes and ears of the society on the ground, operating directly with our field associates and our borrowers.

The Milaap Fellowship Program gives graduates/young professionals with the program to make an influence. It provides candidates six months to survive, experience and offer to a significant cause while documenting inspirational stories of transformation.

As a Member, candidates primary task will be to reach borrowers who have been financed by Milaap and express their stories. The candidate will contribute six months in a small town in rural India, and write brief updates on all of the borrowers that you reach.

Milaap Fellowship starts in July 2020. A stipend of INR 18,000 per month plus compensations for area visits and other job-related costs.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation

Candidates have to escort a weekly summary of loan profiles posted by Milaap’s associate on the Loan Portal, manage the due application, and address compelling loan narratives based on the information gathered.
Candidates have to contribute appealing features to the Milaap blog two times a month. This could incorporate candidates experiences in the profession, profiles of people the candidate interacts with, writing about the area and individual culture, or extensive updates compared to microfinance.

Stakeholder Management

Selection Procedure

If the profile fits the qualifications, applicants will be called for interviews.

The beginners have to visit a five-day training at Milaap headquarters in Bangalore. The instruction will cover the design, the tools, and the support you will need during the Fellowship Program. Milaap will make sure to contribute with some essential information that candidates will require on candidates placement sites too. The training will also allow you to meet and communicate with the Milaap team.

Immediately after the training week, the fellows would leave for candidates assigned to the area. The initial seven days can be used to adjust to their location and get to understand their Field Partner. Once in the city, will be appointed a diverse set of daily tasks challenging creativity, sense of accountability, and autonomy.
